Not Knowing Equals Freedom
There is peace and freedom in not knowing. Not knowing leaves room for other possibilities.
By being in the not knowing, you can release control you never had. 😊
At some point over the last ten years I realized there was a lot I didn’t know…couldn’t know. In fact, no one could know. It is impossible for us to know all of the answers. When I finally understood and accepted that, I felt extreme peace. What a relief to not have that responsibility!
I realized that there are reasons that something or someone is in a certain way of being, I just don’t know what those reasons are. I may not know because I can’t conceive of the reason, I don’t have the information, and in some cases the concept is too big for me to understand.
Why does photosynthesis work?
Like photosynthesis. Why does it work? The conversion of sunlight to energy by plants has been documented in many Biology I textbooks. But while we can describe it in science words, after every explanation of cause and effect there is a “yes, but why…?” 🤷
This can also be applied to intractable, impossible-to-resolve social situations. By approaching a social problem with “I don’t know anything about this”, this allows the universal energy to resolve the problem for us in a different way than we thought was possible.

Recently, I applied this to a personal relationship. I thought our relationship was changing so that a financial debt would be repaid. I learned that this person did not experience the financial relief they were expecting, and so I would not be paid. After a stressful adjustment period I said to myself “I don’t know anything about this”, I really felt it, and I was able to open my heart to the possibility of what could be. I felt freedom, peace, and release.
Try it yourself! Is there something really bothering you? Be by yourself, and go inward. As you have a soft focus on the issue, say to yourself “I don’t know anything about this.” What you experience next can be life-changing.
What you experience next can be life-changing.
Then, if you are feeling really brave, try the general statement “I don’t know”, on something like “What happens when we die?”
You may find that “I don’t know” can be a very comforting answer. ❤️
